Raising the Ceiling: Inside AppFront Racing’s Driver Development Program

At AppFront Racing, our competitive philosophy is simple: we are only as good as our slowest stint. In endurance racing, collective consistency dictates podiums. To maximize our team's full potential, we have officially launched Round 1 of our intensive Driver Development Program, coached by Filipino sim champion and real-world racer Luis Moreno.

The Drivers & Their Challenges

Our roster brings diverse talents, each breaking through unique learning curves under Luis’s guidance:

• Alenie Valera: A full-time government accountant who frequently wins beginner sprint races at Monza Barcade. Moving from arcade, high-downforce F1 cars to heavy GT/street physics means developing a whole new skill set for managing weight transfer.

• Yoram Lazaro: A competitive real-world karter training alongside teammate Johann. As multi-time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen famously noted in a YouTube interview, transitioning from the instant, rigid chassis response of a kart requires a massive shift. Unlike karts, which rely on sliding and a locked rear axle to rotate through tight turns, full-sized cars dictate the exact opposite, requiring the rear to stay firmly planted while the driver manages heavy body roll, suspension travel, and delayed weight distribution

Round 1 Training

Luis is stripping away consumer gaming habits and instilling elite motorsport mechanics:

1. TC-Off Modulation: Forcing drivers to run without Traction Control, training muscle memory to throttle-rotate the car out of corners.

2. Trail Braking: Carrying brake pressure past the turn-in point to keep the front tires pinned for maximum cornering grip.

3. Transmission Management: Perfecting shift points to maintain optimal RPMs without unsettling the car's balance.
